June 25, 2025 marks one year since Zyanya Valora went missing from Ojai, California. Now 22, Zyanya is autistic and was last seen in the area near her home. Since that day, her family and community have been searching for answers.
The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office has remained actively involved in the investigation. From the beginning, they have treated this case as a priority. Deputies have followed up on every lead, conducted interviews, and worked to piece together the timeline of Zyanya’s disappearance. Search and Rescue teams have organized and carried out multiple searches throughout the Ojai Valley. These efforts have included searches on foot, with trained dogs, and on horseback to cover difficult and remote terrain.
The Valora family, including extended relatives, has been actively engaged throughout the past year. Their cooperation with law enforcement, involvement in outreach, and ongoing presence in the community have been essential to keeping the search alive.
Local advocates have also worked to maintain public awareness. Robin Newberger and Barbara Amador have remained consistent in their efforts to share Zyanya’s story and support the family. Lang Martinez has contributed by using his outreach efforts to bring additional attention to the case.
Over the past year, outreach efforts have included social media campaigns, newspaper coverage, television news segments, and an episode of The Vanished podcast. This blog is part of that continuing work to keep the focus on finding Zyanya.
We have done everything we know how to do. We still believe someone out there may have information. Even the smallest detail could make a difference.
